Hamilton Police and Hamilton By-Law gave 14 tickets worth $880 each to 14 individuals who were protesting at the City Hall on Tuesday.
According to police, a group of 18 were assembled at around 5 pm, and were "not wearing masks or social distancing and refused to disperse when requested."
"Fourteen adults were issued tickets under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, which carries a fine of $880," said police.
None of the individuals who received tickets were homeless, say police.
Hamilton Police have laid 27 charges since Ontario announced its stay-at-home order.
