The 12-year-old boy who was shot last weekend while walking with his mother in Toronto has died from his injuries, Toronto police confirmed Thursday morning.
The boy, who was one of four victims in a Jane and Finch-area shooting, was struck by a stray bullet at around 2:20 pm. Three other teenagers were also shot and are expected to recover from their injuries.
Police say that two occupants of a vehicle got out and began discharging their firearm at another vehicle.
The 12-year-old was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where he would succumb to his injuries on Wednesday morning.
Two men were arrested on Monday evening outside a Canadian Tire, where police seized three loaded firearms.
The suspects have been identified as Rashawn Chambers, 24, of Toronto and Jahwayne Smart, 25. They will face a combined 28 charges.
