A new poll conducted by Rasmussen Report found that 50 percent of Americans question President Joe Biden's physical and mental fitness.

When asked "[how] confident are you that Joe Biden is physically and mentally up to the job of being President of the United States?" 50 percent said they were "not confident" while 48 percent said they were "confident" or "very confident."

The survey, which included the voices of 1,000 likely US voters, also found that 52 percent were concerned that Biden has not hosted a press conference since entering office. 46 percent said they were not concerned.

According to Rasmussen, Biden's unwillingness to host a press conference has helped fuel concerns about his fitness for office, with many believing that he is hiding from the press.

Biden's mental fitness for office was an issue commonly raised by Republicans during the 2020 election campaign, with critics often pointing to Biden's stuttering and forgetfulness.

Supporters of Biden have countered that the President has always been gaffe-prone, and that his occasional misstatements are not indicative of any cognitive decline.
