An employee at a McDonald's in Windsor, Ont. recently notified the local restaurant that they have tested positive for coronavirus, according to CBC.
The infected employee worked at the 3354 Dougall Ave. location and had their last shift on March 31, from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. The location was swiftly closed down for the purpose of conducting a thorough cleaning.
"Out of an abundance of caution, McDonald's Canada made the decision to immediately shut down the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitation by 3rd party cleaning experts, WINMAR," said Ryma Boussoufa in a press statement. Boussoufa is McDonald's external communications manager.
Boussoufa said all other staff at the Dougall Ave. location have been asked to self-isolate until further notice.
McDonald's Canada recommends that any guests who may have been in contact with the Dougall Ave location on March 31, contact Ontario Public Health via their website.
