During the "anti-colonial day of action" on Thanksgiving Eve, Antifa rioters in Portland toppled a war monument statue and defaced a memorial dedicated to veterans.

The century-old toppled Soldiers Monument statue—located in the center of Lone Fir Cemetery in southeast Portland—was unveiled in 1903 to honor soldiers of the Civil, Spanish American, Mexican, and Indian wars.

"Good morning to everyone but colonizers," tweeted Antifa journalist Alissa Azar. "Especially this one who seems to be having a particularly rough morning down at the war monument in Lone Fir."

The veteran memorial was vandalized with red spray paint. "F— USA" was written in graffiti above the tribute's "In Memory of Indian War Veterans" inscription. The anarchist monogram also branded the historic site.

Rioters announced the call-to-action "by indigenous comrades tired of seeing white people celebrate the genocide of our ancestors" on Twitter ahead of the night’s criminal activities.

Organizers even posted do-it-yourself tips on identifying a clear target, scouting areas for attack, and assessing risk.

The Pacific Northwest Youth Liberation Front (PNWYLF), one of the leading Antifa groups, incited its followers to "[t]ake direct action to attack symbols and structures of colonialism and capitalism" that Thanksgiving purportedly represents.
