Antifa starts fire outside Portland courthouse still under protective barrier from BLM riots

The courthouse is cordoned off by a protective barrier, but that didn't prevent last night's kindling.

A group of pro-abortion, Antifa activists started a fire outside the Mark O Hatfield federal courthouse in Portland, Oregon Friday night.

The flames consumed a banner strewn across a graffiti covered edifice.

The courthouse remains behind a protective barrier more than two years after far-left rioting began following George Floyd’s death, The Post Millennial editor-at-large Andy Ngo said on Twitter.

In 2020, Portland was engulfed in riots and protests following the death of George Floyd. After multiple days of violence, a group of BLM-Antifa activists seized the courthouse and barricaded themselves within on July 22.

The riots centered around the courthouse and lasted for months. The location had a particularly high amount of violence aimed at law enforcement, including a laser attack that may have permanently blinded three federal officers.

In February 2022, the words "kill Andy NGO" were spray painted on a pillar directly outside the courthouse. While the pillar is not part of the courthouse property, the threat directed at Ngo encapsulated Antifa's sentiment towards the reporter who had brought the situation in Portland to light.

The courthouse is still cordoned off by a protective barrier, but that didn't prevent last night's kindling.

The Portland courthouse fire follows several other violent protests across America in response to the Supreme Court overturning Roe v Wade. Radical pro-abortion groups have promised more nights of violence to come.
