Ben Shapiro calls Joe Biden a 'pathetic dotard' for invoking George Wallace during 'voting rights' speech

On Tuesday, both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took to Georgia to give speeches on the issue of voting rights.

Democrats are primarily concerned with guaranteeing the best possible outcome for the 2022 midterm election landscape.

On Biden's part, he continued with the same "Jim Crow 2.0" claim about the state's voting regulations, which he first brought out in April 2021.

But Ben Shapiro of The Daily Wire is not humoring Biden's rhetoric.

"How do you want to be remembered? At consequential moments in history, they present a choice – do you want to be the side of Dr. King or George Wallace? Do you want to be the side of John Lewis or Bull Connor? Do you want to be the side of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis?" Biden questioned.

Even Bloomberg's White House correspondent, Justin Sink, took Biden's claim seriously when he almost claimed to the crowd he was arrested during a civil rights demonstration, which was a persistent issue that previously came up against the president in the 2020 campaign season.

Tuesday's speech in Georgia marked the third time that President Joe Biden incorrectly referred to Harris as the president of the United States. It happened before in March and December of 2021.

But the main theme of Biden's speech had him inaccurately claiming that it's illegal for members of the general public to hand out food and water to each other while waiting in line to vote.

Page 74 of Georgia's SB 202 election security bill says as follows:

"This Code section shall not be construed to prohibit a poll officer from distributing materials, as required by law, which are necessary for the purpose of instructing electors or from distributing materials prepared by the Secretary of State which are designed solely for the purpose of encouraging voter participation in the election being conducted or from making available self-service water from an unattended receptacle to an elector waiting in line to vote."

CNN had to fact check Biden over his Georgia claims, last year. "While the law does say people can't hand out or offer money or gifts, including food and drink, to voters within 150 feet of a polling location, it also says people can't do so 'within 25 feet of any voter standing in line to vote' -- in other words, even if the voters are farther than 150 feet from the building. And the restriction on handing out food and water does not 'just' cover special interest groups and people running for office. The provision says that 'any person' -- not just a person engaged in electioneering -- is forbidden from giving or offering voters money or gifts, including food and drink, within 150 feet of a polling place, within 25 feet of voters in line, or inside the polling place," CNN explains.

In response to the speech, GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel highlighted the contrast of a voting situation in Biden's home state of Delaware.
