The White House is pushing back against the Court of Appeals decision over the weekend to freeze Biden’s COVID vaccine mandate for private business. Officials have gone as far as to say businesses should ignore the recent court ruling.

According to CNBC, during Monday’s White House briefing Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that: "People should not wait. They should continue to move forward and make sure they’re getting their workplace vaccinated."

Within the last the Department of Justice has argued against the mandate pause as well.

On Saturday, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals temporarily suspended the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's vaccine mandate.

"Because the petitions give cause to believe there are grave statutory and constitutional issues with the Mandate, the Mandate is hereby stayed pending further action by this court," the order read.

The litigation said to be responsible for freezing Biden’s mandate was business owner Brandon Trosclair of Louisiana. This comes alongside a similar push by Attorneys General in several states for requesting a pause.

It was back in early September that President Biden first unveiled his plans to mandate COVID vaccinations across private businesses in America by way of an OSHA mandate. Fast forward to last Thursday and the move was made official via finalized rules from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

The deadline is January 4, 2022. Workers who elect not to get the COVID jab will be required to wear masks at work and undergo weekly testing. But this exception isn’t applicable to healthcare workers at Medicare and Medicaid facilities. It’s get the jab or lose the job.

Workplace inspections are said to be the federal government’s means of enforcement and compliance for this vaccine mandate.

It’s not the first time the Biden administration has ignored court decisions. Earlier this year with the eviction moratorium, he caved to progressive pressure to issue an extension despite the court saying the executive branch didn’t have the authority to do so.
