President Joe Biden's approval rating is now lower than former President Donald Trump's lowest point, according to polls from RealClearPolitics.
According to the site's data, Trump's approval rating peaked at 41.1 percent, while his disapproval rate peaked at 56.1 percent. Biden, by comparison, has a 36.8 percent approval rating, while his disapproval rate rests at 57.5 percent.
Another poll, by Quinnipiac University, found that 31 percent of American adults said Biden is doing a good job as president, while 60 percent said that they disapproved.
"In Quinnipiac’s survey, Biden got the lowest job ratings for his handling of the economy, as just 28% of respondents approved of his work in that area. That result tracks with another finding of the poll: 34% of Americans said that inflation was the most urgent issue facing the United States today," reports CNBC.
Much of the dissatisfaction has to do with inflation, with it rising in June to 9.1 percent above a year prior, the fastest pace seen in more than 40 years.
The only area Biden saw decent numbers was in his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, where 50 percent of respondents said he was doing a good job, while 43 percent said that they disapproved.
That same poll found that 71 percent of respondents said they would not like to see Biden run for a second term, while just 24 percent said they would.
The poll questioned 1,523 adults on the telephone from Thursday through Sunday. It has a margin of error of 2.5 percentage points.
