Joe Biden's presidential campaign reportedly will not be announcing a running mate for the presumptive Democratic nominee this week. According to insiders, some of Biden's strongest allies are "waging war" against Biden's likely veep pick Kamala Harris, reports The Daily Wire.

"Some remain bitter about her attacks on Biden during primary debates last year, saying they bring into question her loyalty to the former vice president. Others argue that she's too ambitious and that she will be solely focused on becoming president herself," reports CNBC.

Recent reports noted that Biden was likely to announce his long awaited VP pick by Aug. 8 but Fox News said on Monday that further delays are being predicted by campaign insiders. Biden was initially scheduled to announce his veep choice in mid-July.

Biden said last week that he would be making a pick by "the first week in August." Insiders suggested Biden would announce his running mate around Aug. 8—two weeks before the Democratic nominee is set to accept the nomination in Wisconsin on Aug. 17.

The delay may also be caused by a slow selection process as some reports claim Biden's campaign is still holding interviews with main candidates this week.

Harris has been thought of as the campaign's most likely pick. This is despite the strong concerns raised by Democrats about the California Senator. These have made their way "directly to members of Biden's VP search committee, led by former Sen. Chris Dodd, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, D-Del., and Cynthia Hogan, who previously served as counsel to the presumptive Democratic nominee when he was vice president under President Barack Obama."
