'How can we trust America? How can we ever trust America if they just leave us in a lurch like this?' Nigel Farage on Biden's failure

Daily Wire Host Candace Owens invited British politician Nigel Farage on this week's episode of Candace. The two discussed Biden's conflicted withdrawal from Afghanistan, COVID-19 and the failure of the education system.

Most notably, Farage shared insight on how Brits are now perceiving America. "Being an American in London is not quite as popular as it was a week ago. Mr. Biden has changed perceptions of America here, maybe temporarily, but it’s a very concerning time, isn’t it?" Farage told Owens.

"What about America’s place in the world? I’m very pro-American as you well know, I’ve worked for American companies and I’ve been involved in American current affairs and politics a bit too, but for the first time in years I’m hearing anti-American sentiment," Farage continued. "How can we trust America? How can we ever trust America if they just leave us in a lurch like this? … So don’t underestimate the damage this does America in the eyes of the world. And don’t underestimate the loss of trust that will now exist. I’m not even sure NATO can survive this."

Candace Owens then asked Farage what his thoughts are on COVID-19 and the ongoing campaign to push people to be vaccinated and receive vaccine passports. Farage noted vaccines have been a net positive for humanity in the last 100 years and that the COVID vaccine may help "the overweight, the elderly, those with chest conditions." However, he noted "Giant pharma's a big winner. Giant government’s a big winner. And individual liberty and choice is a massive loser."

Finally, on the topic of education in the western world, both Owens and Farage shared disappointment. "I think about the values [my kids] have been taught at school and at university and this concept of freedom of the individual, speaking one’s mind, the defense of liberty, doesn’t feature. It’s gone! What is much more important now is not to say something that might cause offense … Rather than trying to get people to be expressive, to live in a free society, to understand that there are things you will say that others won’t like but that’s all part of the deal, we’ve gone the other way," Farage expressed. "We’re actually teaching them a level suppression from a very early age. So if you start to kill the idea of free speech, then perhaps it’s not surprising that a huge level of state control is accepted without question."

Farage concludes the interview on the importance of America on the global stage. "If America goes, the whole of Western civilization goes. That’s how big the stakes are," Farage told Owens.
