Joe Biden told CNN, Thursday, that he plans to ask Americans to wear masks for a total of 100 days starting from his inauguration day of January 20.

Biden appeared in his first joint interview with Kamala Harris since the election on CNN to discuss his coronavirus plan with CNN's Jake Tapper, Thursday.

"Just 100 days to mask, not forever. 100 days. And I think we'll see a significant reduction," Biden explained to Tapper.

Biden said that he would issue a standing order to wear masks in places where the federal government has authority such as federal buildings and in settings of interstate travel like buses and airplanes.

Biden discussed the broad skepticism towards the COVID-19 vaccine.

"Part of what has to happen Jake, and you know as well as I do, people have lost faith in the ability of the vaccine to work. Already the numbers are really staggeringly low," Biden explained.

"And it matters what the President and Vice-President do. And so I think my three predecessors set the model on what should be done."

Biden continued to explain that once the vaccine is evaluated by medical professionals that it is "important to communicate to the American people that its safe."

Biden has also said that he asked Dr. Anthony Fauci to serve as his chief medical adviser and part of his Covid-19 response team in his administration, CNN reports.
