The Biden administration is both absolving itself of responsibility for oil output in the United States, while trying to project sympathy for impacted Americans.

Oil lobbying groups are blaming President Biden for the current energy situation in the United States.

"Certainly one of the key factors is that the Biden administration has made an effort to reduce production in the United States," said Mike Sommers, president and CEO of the American Petroleum Institute, told Fox Baltimore.

Sommers’ interview with the outlet outlines the growing reality that people in the United States are likely to have a thirty percent higher heating bill this winter.

While at a glance it might seem like energy bills and the cost of fuel is an isolated issue, the reality is it has an impact on the rest of the supply chain in terms of transporting goods.

"Did you ever think you’d be paying this much for a gallon of gas?" President Biden told a crowd on Wednesday, per CNBC.

He stopped at the Port of Baltimore to give a speech on what his infrastructure bill will do to help the country, but also to make it clear he understood the supply chain concerns currently facing Americans.

With regards to inflation, CNN calls it a "political nightmare" for Biden that the cost of living rose by 6.2 percent over the last 12 months.

It was Friday of last week that Biden’s energy secretary Jennifer Granholm said that she doesn’t have the "magic wand" to fix the oil output situation within the US. She further "rejected" the idea that President Biden’s restrictions on oil drilling leases on public land slowed down output.

In the past few days, commentary made earlier this year from Biden’s nominee for regulating the banking system went viral online. Saule Omarova said "we want" the coal and oil industries to "go bankrupt" in order to tackle climate change.

Last month, Omarova’s affiliation with Communist ideology was sanitized from the public record.

Earlier this year, the OPEC group dismissed a request from the United States to ramp up oil production for America’s sake. All the meanwhile, the Biden administration is still taking the idea of shutting down another oil pipeline into consideration.

This is on top of the White House’s decision (and backlash) of closing the Keystone pipeline project earlier this year.
