Actress Letitia Wright has publicly responded to a report that she shares anti-vaccine views while on set filming "Black Panther 2."
The Hollywood Reporter cited a source in claiming that the 27-year-old had "espoused" anti-vaccine viewpoints while on set. That source went on to allege that Wright lost her entire American team of representatives after posting an anti-vaccination video online last December.
Wright protested via her own Instagram post on Wednesday.
"It saddens me to have to address the reports published by The Hollywood Reporter on October 6th 2021. The report spoke about my conduct on the set of black Panther 2. I honestly assert that this was completely untrue.
"Anyone who knows me or has worked with me, knows that I work incredibly hard at my craft & my main focus is always to do work that’s impactful and inspiring. That has been & will continue to be my only focus. I will continue to hold onto Gods hands, and onto the scripture of Isaiah 54:17. I continue to focus on my healing. Thank you for your prayers. And I continue to pray for Gods love, peace & joy for you all. God bless you. Letitia."
Wright did tweet out different sentiments in December 2020, but they were later deleted.
The Hollywood Reporter explored other feelings about vaccines held by other celebrities, as well. George Clooney, Giancarlo Esposito, and Sean Penn were said to be strict in their beliefs about the need for people on set to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
The sequel "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" is currently set to hit theaters in July 2022.
