The Black Rifle Coffee Company rejected any association with 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, in a statement, Saturday, following a tweet from Blaze Media reporter Elijah Schaffer that suggested the company may have a relationship with Rittenhouse.

Schaffer tweeted a now removed picture of Rittenhouse wearing a Black Rifle Coffee Company shirt. His tweet read “Kyle Rittenhouse drinks the best coffee in America,” along with a promo code to receive a discount on Black Rifle Coffee, the Salt Lake Tribune reports.

The picture appears in this tweet below.

The veteran-owned coffee company released a statement, Saturday, addressing comments that Rittenhouse was somehow associated with or sponsored by Black Rifle Coffee Company as suggested by Schaffer's tweet.

The statement reads:

"We do not support legal advocacy efforts. We do not sponsor nor do we have a relationship with the 17-year-old facing charges in Kenosha, WI.

We believe in the integrity of the legal justice system, and support law enforcement officials."

Kyle Rittenhouse is accused of killing two people during a riot in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The teen, who is being charged as an adult, says he was acting in self defense at the time of the shooting.

Black Rifle Coffee Company told the Salt Lake Tribune that they discussed the incident with Schaffer. “We did have a conversation with Schaffer, and he understands that the post was a mistake,” the company explained, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

The veteran-owned, Salt Lake City Black Rifle Coffee Company brands itself as a conservative, 2nd Amendment supporting company. The company says they are "serving premium coffee to people who love America," according to their website.

The Post Millennial reached out to the Black Rifle Coffee Company for further comment but did not receive reply.
