BLM supporters have assaulted three trans women and two gay men in August

Black Lives Matter has an anti-LGBT problem. While many unsuspectingly view it as a movement focused on social justice and virtue, others may be shocked to uncover a consistent history of anti-LGBT actions by the hands of it’s supporters. In the past month alone, three transgender women and two gay men have been assaulted by Black Lives Matter supporters.

Political activist Mikey Harlow and WalkAway founder Brandon Straka both found themselves being harassed, intimidated, and assaulted by BLM earlier this week while leaving the White House after attending the final night of the Republican National Convention. They were called “f*ggots” and allegedly spit at by several activists who were furious that two gay men would attend an event in support of Donald Trump. According to Straka, a drink was also thrown and his friend was physically hit.

“When we exited the RNC, we were immediately accosted by the mob. There were people screaming that I am ‘self-hating’ because I am a gay man who is not a radical leftist Democrat. About 15 minutes later, we were attacked by BLM. So according to them: Either I join sides with the people who spit on me, dehumanize me, and call me a ‘f*ggot’ with their fists in my face ... or I just hate myself. That no longer makes sense to me. And it no longer makes sense to millions of people walking away from the radical left. Hating yourself would be tolerating an ideology that promotes such hate and dehumanization,” Harlow told The Post Millennial.

The attack on Straka and Harlow comes off the heels of a separate attack on three transgender women on Hollywood Blvd. Eden Estrada, an Instagram influencer, and her two friends were brutally robbed, beaten, and one of them knocked unconscious as several men shouted “Black Lives Matter.” Observe below.

While these incidents may seem surprising or like isolated events, some may remember other such anti-LGBT occurrences when Black Lives Matter first began rising in popularity. In June 2016, Black Lives Matter activists hijacked a vigil for victims of the Pulse Orlando mass shooting, where 49 individuals, most of which identifies as LGBT, were slain. You can watch the footage below, where a BLM activist states "I was really nervous to get up here because there's a lot of white people in the crowd.. And that wasn't a joke. I wish this many people came out to our racial demonstrations, and our Black Lives Matter movement."

It’s clear that anti-LGBT sentiments are present within the Black Lives Matter movement, and it could most likely stand to gain by addressing and correcting it. Unfortunately, the mainstream media and BLM’s most vocal supporters are virtually silent on these attacks, despite the fact that President Trump personally retweeted Brandon Straka’s recording of his attack. Only time will tell if these attacks will escalate or not.
