BLM Louisville bailed out Quintez Brown on Tuesday after Brown was arrested as a suspect in the attempting shooting of local mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg at his campaign office. BLM claimed that Brown "needed support."
On Thursday, BLM Louisville, which posted the $100,000 cash bail, wrote that jail should be done away with "all together" and that instead of incarceration for crimes once committed, "preventative measures" should be funded.
Brown was charged with attempted murder as well as four counts of wanton endangerment. He was affiliated with BLM and leftist activist causes.
They also seemed to indicate that because the intended target was merely a "candidate," it wasn't such a big deal.
Louisville Democratic mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg engaged in a meeting with campaign staff on Monday morning at his office when a man, later identified as Brown, came to the doorway and began shooting. Staffers were able to get the door closed and barricaded before the suspect fled. No one was injured, though a bullet grazed Greenberg's clothing.
Brown had spoke out against guns, penning a 2019 article saying that an open-carry gun law in Kentucky "shows your life doesn't matter to gun-loving Republicans."
He is now charged with bringing a gun to Greenberg's office and attempting to shoot him.
