On Monday, emergency responders were called to The Covenant School in Nashville after reports of a shooting.

The exact number of victims is unknown, though police have confirmed that there are "multiple patients." At least four people were reportedly killed. Police have reported that officers engaged with the shooter, who is now dead.

The fire department tweeted that the incident was an "active aggressor" situation and advised parents of students to go to 20 Burton Hills for further instructions. However, it was unclear whether there were additional suspects in custody.

"We are responding to an active aggressor at 33 Burton Hills Blvd Covenant School," the fire department tweeted. "We can confirm we have multiple patients. Parents coming to the school should go to 20 Burton Hills at this time. This is an active scene."

The Covenant School is housed inside a Presbyterian church and provides education from preschool to 6th grade.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated.
