Ontario Premier Doug Ford addressed media today, announcing that the remaining Toronto and Peel-area countries would be given the green light to continue on to phase two of the economic reopening.
That leaves only Windsor-Essex County as the only area in Ontario to not be given the go ahead, being left behind in the dust.

"We're seeing the trends going right way... We're taking a cautious approach. Because of the progress, I'm able to announce that more of Ontario will be joining Stage Two this Wednesday."
As of June 24, the city of Toronto and the Peel region will be allowed to enter Stage Two, Ford announced.
"We're watching the public health trends carefully," said Ford, explaining that "unfortunately, the threat of this virus in Windsor-Essex is still too great."
"While we're seeing trends improve in Toronto and Peel, we haven't yet seen those targets in Windsor," said Ford, ensuring Windsorites that the government was doing everything in its power to reopen "as quickly as possible."
Ontario Premier Doug Ford called out farmers in the Windsor-Essex region for failing to get migrant workers tested as a COVID-19 outbreak there continues: "It's just not fair what you're doing right now."

Ford also announced that more federal support would be invested into enhancing agrifood workplace programs, totalling $15 million. This will increase protection for migrant workers.
Recently, the Windsor-Essex area saw three COVID related deaths among foreign workers.
"I will continue to have a conversation with the prime minister and deputy prime minister to help our farmers get through this challenging time."
