BREAKING: Biden says you don't have to wear masks when vaccinated anymore, but urges 'kindness' for those who feel 'safer' keeping them on

"Y'know, some may say they just feel more comfortable continuing to wear a mask. They may feel that way. So if you're someone with a mask, you see them, please treat them with kindness and respect."

Now that the CDC has offered new guidance on masking, perennial-masker President Joe Biden said that sure, you can take the masks off, but that Americans should show "kindness" to those who feel "safer" keeping them on.

"Remember, as fast as we've gone, most people under the age of 65 aren't vaccinated yet. We've opened vaccinations nationally to all adults just four weeks ago. It's gonna take a little more time for those who want to get vaccinated to get their shots.

"So all of us, let's be patient, be patient with one another. Y'know, some may say they just feel more comfortable continuing to wear a mask. They may feel that way. So if you're someone with a mask, you see them, please treat them with kindness and respect.

"We've had too much conflict, too much bitterness, too much anger, too much politicization of this issue about wearing masks," said the man who routinely politicized masks and said it was a "patriotic duty" to wear them.

"Let's put it to rest. Let's remember, we're all Americans. Let's remember that we are all in this together. If you're fully vaccinated, and can take your mask off, you've earned the right to do something that Americans are known for all around the world: greeting others with a smile, with a smile," he laughed.

"So—it's a good day for the country. We aren't done yet, we're still losing too many Americans," he said, "because we still have too many unvaccinated people. We have to get to 70 percent of adults started on vaccinations by July the fourth.

"And we have to take this pandemic, tackle it, not just here but overseas as well, to really be safe in the long run. There's still more work ahead, but as I have said many times, there's tough work ahead, but we will get through it," Biden said.

This came after the announcement from the CDC that mask-wearing for those who have been vaccinated no longer need to wear masks, either inside or outside.

Biden said "I want to be clear what the CDC is saying and what the CDC is not saying. The CDC is saying, they have concluded, that fully vaccinated people are at a very, very low risk of getting COVID-19. Therefore, if you've been fully vaccinated, you no longer need to wear a mask.

"Let me repeat, if you are fully vaccinated, you no longer need to wear a mask. But if you've not been vaccinated, or if you're getting a two-shot vaccine, and you've not gotten, and you've only got your first shot, and not your second, or if you haven't waited the two weeks since getting your second shot, you still need to wear a mask. Look, we've gotten this far. Please protect yourself until you get to the finish line."

Biden came into office in January demanding that states all put mask mandates into place, and was heard to have said "mask-up, America" over and over again. Even after he was vaccinated, he continued to wear masks inside, outside, and anywhere in between. He did it, the White House said, to encourage other people to do the same by setting as masked example. The CDC in February suggested people wear two masks.
