BREAKING: Dem PA Senate candidate John Fetterman will remain hospitalized through Election Day, wife to deliver remarks

Pennsylvania Lt. Governor and Democrat senate candidate John Fetterman is still hospitalized following a stroke on Friday, and will not be delivering election night remarks on Tuesday night. Instead, his wife Gisele will be speaking in his place.

Fetterman is the frontrunner in the Democrat race for Senate in Pennsylvania. He faces a contentious slate of GOP candidates, including Kathy Barnette and Dr. Mehmet Oz. He said that despite the stroke, he would remain in the race.

Fetterman, who is continuing to rest and recover following that stroke, was admitted to the hospital on Friday after Gisele encouraged him to go get checked out when he was experiencing symptoms.

He shared a video update of himself and his wife, noting that she was the one with the good sense to make his health a priority on Friday. The doctors were able to reverse the stroke.

His statement reads that he "didn't want to go" to the hospital, but that he was glad he did so, as it resulted in the revelation that he had a blood clot in his heart that caused the stroke after it was "beating in an A-fib rhythm for too long."

Real Clear Politics shows polling for both the GOP and Democrat senate primaries in Pennsylvania. Fetterman is currently in the lead with 43 percent, with his closest contender at around 12 percent.

On the GOP side, the race is tight. Oz leads with 25.5 percent, but Barnette is close on his heels with 22.5 percent, and David McCormick is in third, with 21.8 percent. The remaining candidates are polling at less than 7 percent each.
