President Donald Trump spoke to the nation for the last time as president on Tuesday, delivering a speech that touted his administrations achievements on the economy, vaccine development, unemployment, trade deals, as well as that during his four years in office, the US began no new wars.

He said that as president his top concern has been American families, and that he did not seek the easiest course, but "the most difficult." He said he took on the hardest tasks because that's what he was elected to do.

"My fellow Americans, four years ago we launched a great national effort to rebuild our country to renew its spirit and to restore the allegiance of this government to its citizens. In short we embarked on a mission to make American great again for all Americans.

"As I conclude my terms as the 45th president of the United States i stand before you truly proud of what we have achieved together we did what we came here to do and so much more.

"This week we inaugurate a new administration and pray for its success in keeping America safe and prosperous. We extend our best wishes and also want them to have luck, a very important word."

He thanked the First Lady, his daughter Ivanka, son-in-law, and his children. He thanked Mike Pence, his family. Trump thanked his chief of staff Mark Meadows, those who worked in the administration, and his supporters. He thanked the US Secret Service, as well.

"To serve as your president has been an honor beyond description. Thank you for this extraordinary privilege.

"We must never forget that while Americans will always have our disagreements, we are a nation of incredibly decent faithful and peace-loving citizens who all want our country to thrive and  flourish and be very, very successful and good. We are a truly magnificent nation."

Trump said that "all Americans were horrified by the assault on our Capitol," and that this kind of violence can never be tolerated. He called for an end to divisiveness.

Trump said that his was the first presidency of a true "outsider," who knew that the "potential of our nation was boundless so long as we put America first."

He said that "we built the greatest political movement in the history of our country," as well as a booming economy. "We restored the principle that a nation exists to serve its citizens."

With the support of the American people "we achieved more than anyone thought possible," he said, and touted his record on the economy, unemployment, trade deals, and pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord.

Trump said that the whole world suffered, but that America out-performed the world due to the booming economy. He touted the American energy sector, and said that "powered by these policies," American achieved an economy that worked for so many people, saying that "millions were lifted from poverty in just a few short years."

Trump spoke about the achievement of the vaccine, his Supreme Court nominations and the constitutionalist federal judges he appointed. Trump leaves his office proud of his achievements at the southern border, and the wall he built along that border.

"The world respects us again," he said, "please don't lose that respect. We reclaimed out sovereignty by standing up for America at the United Nations," he said, and from withdrawing from "global deals that never served out interests."

NATO countries are now paying "hundreds of billions of dollars more," he said than prior to his presidency. Trump also launched the newest military branch, Space Force, as well as the strides America has made in the space program.

"We obliterated the ISIS caliphate," he said, saying that America stood up to the Iranian regime, recognized Israeli sovereignty, and got on better footing with China.

"The Abraham Accords opened the door to peace and harmony," he said, saying that he was proud to have been the "first president in decades to start no new wars" during his time in office.

"We restored the idea that in America no one is forgotten because everyone matters and everyone has a voice. We fought for the principle that every citizen is entitled to equal treatment, equal dignity and equal rights because we are all made equal under God," Trump said.

Trump spoke about his direct relationship with the American people, and fighting for education and "a culture where our laws could be upheld, our heroes honored and our history preserved."

As concerns the nation's future, and the "priceless inheritance that we all share," Trump said that "as the world's most powerful nation," the US faces constant threats from abroad, but that the biggest threat comes from within, a crisis of confidence.

He said that the greatest danger that we face is a "loss of confidence in ourselves, a loss of confidence in our national greatness. A nation is only as strong as its spirit. We are only as dynamic as our pride. We are only as vibrant as the faith that beats in the hearts of our people.

"No nation can long thrive that loses faith in its own values, history and heroes, for these are the very sources of our unity and our vitality."

He said that America's thriving is due to her citizen's belief in the "nobility of our country and its unique purpose in history." He went on to say that the key to national greatness lies in sustaining and instilling our shared national identity, that means focusing on what we have in common, the heritage we all share."

Trump spoke against "political censorship and blacklisting." Trump said that "shutting down free and open debate" is a violation of our "core values."

"America is not a timid nation of tame souls of those who need to be sheltered and protected from those with whom we disagree," he said, "it will never be who we are."
