Former President Donald Trump released a fiery statement Thursday in response to NBA player LeBron James’s tweet which threatened the Columbus Police Officer who fatally shot Ma’Kiah Bryant while saving the life of Bryant intended victim.
"LeBron James should focus on basketball rather than presiding over the destruction on the NBA, which has just recorded the lowest television RATINGS, by far, in the long and distinguished history of the League," said Donald Trump in a statement released by the office of the 45th President of the United States.
"His RACIST rants are divisive, nasty, insulting, and demeaning. He may be a great basketball player, but he is doing nothing to bring our Country together," Trump concluded.
Anti-American and pro-China NBA player LeBron James took to Twitter Wednesday posting a picture of the Columbus Police Officer who fatally shot Bryant and said "You’re Next," essentially doxing the cop who saved a life to his 49.6 million followers.
LeBron’s tweet, in response to the courts decision to hold Derek Chauvin accountable in the death of George Floyd, was wildly criticized across social media and news outlets, was seen as an incitement of violence towards police officers across the country.
The officer-involved shooting of Ma’Kiah Bryant happened just minutes before Cauvin’s guilty verdict was announced on Tuesday. That afternoon, the Columbus Police Department responded to a 911 call of an attempted stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found Ma’Kiah Bryant wielding a knife within moments away from stabbing the caller. The officer made the split second decision to shoot Bryant while saving the life of the black teen she was essentially trying to kill.
But because Ma’Kiah Bryant was black, the mob came for the Columbus Police Officer and accused him of brutally murdering a black teen.
However, bodycam footage released by the Columbus Police Department justified the officers quick decision to shoot 15-year-old Ma'Kiah Bryant.
Mainstream media outlets, including NBC Nightly News and MSNBC, deceptively edited the bodycam footage on-air to paint a false narrative in an attempt to spark more outrage. The outlets omitted key facts, including Bryant wielding a knife attempting to kill the caller and instead only showed the officer shooting Bryant and her knife laying on the ground.
