Dr. Mehmet Oz, the day-time TV show host turned Republican Senate nominee, is currently leading the pack of Republicans for the state, though the margin is slim. He is running against Kathy Barnette, who revealed that her pro-life stance was formed in part from having been conceived when her mother was raped at 11 years old.

According to a Franklin and Marshall poll, Oz has 18 percent popularity, while runner-up David McCormick has 16. Barnette has said not to count her out, and she is currently at 12 percent.

Remaining numbers show as:

  • Kathy Barnette: 12 percent
  • Carla Sands: 5 percent
  • Jeff Bartos: 2 percent
  • Sean Gale: 1 percent
  • George Bochetto: 0 percent

An additional 39 percent are undecided.

Oz, however, has an incredibly low favorability score amongst Republicans, showing 41 percent unfavorability to 29 percent favorability.

"Two in five (39%) voters say they are not sure who they will vote for in the senate race and three in five (57%) of those who have chosen a candidate say they could still change their minds.

"Favorability ratings of Mehmet Oz remain negative among Republican voters, with more having an unfavorable (41%) than favorable (29%) opinion of the candidate. Oz (19%) and Barnette (18%) are running neck and neck among the Trump faction of Republican voters, while McCormick (28%) has an advantage among the traditional faction," the study states.

The poll found that Oz had just 9 percent "strong" favorability, up 4 percent from April, something that Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec calls "disastrous for his electability."

Pennsylvania's Democratic poll shows John Fetterman leading over Conor Lamb. Here's what the poll found:

  • John Fetterman: 53 percent
  • Conor Lamb: 14 percent
  • Malcolm Kenyatta: 4 percent
  • Alex Khalil: 1 percent
  • Kevin Baumlin: 1 percent

With 22 percent undecided.

The survey findings presented in this release are based on the results of interviews conducted April 20 - May 1, 2022. The interviews were conducted at the Center for Opinion Research at Franklin & Marshall. The data included in this release represent the responses of 792 registered Pennsylvania voters, including 357 Democrats, 325 Republicans, and 110 independents.
