Ontario Premier Doug Ford spoke to media on Tuesday in his daily coronavirus address to the province.

Ford started by announcing that the Ontario government would be partnering with the Ontario Community Support Association, including an $11 million investment into Meals on Wheels, to deliver food, medicines, and other vital goods for senior citizens in the province.

"We have to take care of our own ... Please, reach out to your elderly neighbours and to anyone you know who may be in need," said Ford. "It's the small things that make the difference."

"We know many low income seniors are facing hard times, my message to you today is: help is here," said Ford, announcing that the Guaranteed Annual Income System (GAInS) would be delivered this week, with payments being doubled for 194,000 low income seniors across the province, giving an extra $166 a month to low income seniors.

"This will provide much needed financial support," continued Ford.

Ford also announced that child welfare and victims shelters would be provided with $40 million in the fight against COVID-19. This funding will provide masks and other much-needed protective equipment.
