Ontario Premier Doug Ford will meet with his cabinet at 4 pm on Tuesday, with a new stay-at-home order and "travel restrictions between different regions of the province" both on the table, according to Toronto Sun's Brian Lilley.

Ford said earlier on Tuesday that the province would see further restrictions "very, very quickly." No details were given as to what those could be.

Ford mentioned three regions within the province: the York, Peel and Toronto regions, saying that sixty percent of cases came from those areas.

Health officers from those regions called for school closures, business closures, as well as travel restrictions, according to the Toronto Sun. Both Toronto and Peel have both gone back to virtual learning since the letter's publishing.

“A stay-at-home order issued by the province through an emergency order is necessary to prevent and mitigate large-scale morbidity and mortality and irreparable strain on the health-care system,” reads a letter sent Sunday to Dr. David Williams, the province's chief medical officer.
