Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced that his province will officially be moving forward with allowing additional businesses to reopen, starting this Friday.
All areas of Ontario will be eligible, besides those in the GTA and select hot-spots, who will not be opened until at least June 19.
The Stage-2 reopening will allow businesses, workplaces, and outdoor spaces to open, as well as allowing more people in social situations.
Ford also announced that places of worship be able to worship be able to open at 30 percent building capacity. Wedding venues will also be allowed to be opened, for weddings with attendees of up to 10 people.

Ford also announced a commercial eviction ban, stating:
"Our small businesses are struggling right now, and for them, making rent is top of mind. That's why we've worked to get $900 million to help businesses with commercial rent relief, and as I was clear with landlords; you have to be fair in helping out everyone."
"But we still heard about landlords who just didn't get the message. Well, I'm here for the little guy," said Ford, announcing that he will be moving to pass legislation to ban commercial evictions for those who qualify for the commercial rent relief program.

The following regions will remain in Stage 1 until it's safe to move into Stage 2:
- Durham Region Health Department
- Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit
- Halton Region Public Health
- Hamilton Public Health Services
- Lambton Public Health
- Niagara Region Public Health
- Peel Public Health
- Toronto Public Health
- Windsor-Essex County Health Unit
- York Region Public Health
According to the Ontario website, non-essential in-person gatherings of any size "continue to be strongly discouraged. Small outdoor events, such as cultural celebrations, animal shows and fundraisers will be permitted in line with gathering-size restrictions, subject to local public health requirements."
