BREAKING: Marjorie Taylor Greene compares Twitter to Communist China after recent suspension

After her temporary ban on Twitter, Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene held a press conference outside her congressional office to discuss Dr. Anthony Fauci and what she believes are his links to the funding of research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Despite Fauci's appointed position, and not as an elected official, Greene said, Fauci is the highest paid employee in the federal government. She said that Twitter acted "like corporate communists," saying that the ban against her, and others, is a violation of the first amendment.

"Imagine if the shoe is on the other foot," she said, positing that no one political party should be silencing their opposition.

"Conservatives are banned censored and kicked off of social media every day," she said, noting that former President Trump has been roundly banned "because big tech doesn't like what he has to say."

"My voice is the elected voice for my district," she said, lambasting as "completely wrong" those people who would have her banned from social media. She brought up an incident where she was sued by a PAC who said it was unlawful that she had blocked them from seeing her Twitter account.

"Should people sue Twitter because they're banning my voice? You see, it's a hypocrisy," she said.

"I will not stop asking questions," she said.

"The reason I am promoting Fire Fauci," she said, "is because you have a federal public employee who has lied," and she brought up Senator Rand Paul's grilling of Fauci in a Senate committee hearing on Tuesday.

"Here we are, we have Dr. Anthony Fauci... saying whatever he wants," she said, saying that he funded lab research into gain of function at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

She answered questions, saying that she does not believe she has spread any "misinformation" on her Twitter page, and defended her comments on Twitter, that ended up catching her a temporary ban from the platform.

She fielded questions on tweets, Twitter suspensions, Anthony Fauci and election audits for the 2020 general presidential election. She said "I think those people should be heard."

Greene said she had been banned multiple times across Facebook and Twitter, and was asked what her objection is as regards that. "Here's what is just... there's porn all over Twitter, there's all kinds of people all over Twitter... but it seems to be the only people they heavily censor and ban are conservative Americans."

She said that this is why American conservatives are so perplexed by the rules of the platform. She said "it's targeted, it's political."

As regards the virus, she said "I disagree with the recommendation for children to be wearing masks, I think it's completely wrong." She listed the many reasons kids should not be masked. "Our kids are healthy, most children are extremely healthy, most children," she said, "are not at risk."

Greene said "I don't believe in discrimination on any grounds," and that includes discrimination against the unvaccinated. "I am encouraging people to make up their own minds," she said.

And she pulled up the CDC website, reading that more than 12,000 people have been reported to have died after receiving the vaccine. She did not say that there was any causation, but said it should be investigates.

"Twitter is not in charge of what information is correct and what information is not correct. Twitter is declaring itself the judge of whose voice is right and whose voice is wrong," she said.

In her view, the FDA should put the vaccine through their full approval process, and not let it stand as it is currently labeled, which is for "experimental use."

Trump," she said, "should be proud of the accomplishment his administration made," noting that she's proud of the "work they did to come up with the vaccine in such a short amount of time." But she reiterated that getting vaccinated should be up to each individual.

"I'm going to always be in the camp of this should be people's choice," she said. University students, church-goers, and workers, she said, should not be forced to take the vaccine.

She was asked if she thought it was inadvisable for the administration to release the vaccine, and she said no, but also said that "it was a virus that was developed through our tax dollars... and made to be a bio-weapon."

Greene wants to hold China to account, saying "I would not allow anyone with the CCP to be involved with our colleges and universities," and would be more meticulous as regards both visas and businesses who are aligned with the CCP doing business in the US.

"China's long term goal is they want to be the number one country in the world," Greene said, saying that China wants to dominate the US in every conceivable way. "If we don't get serious," she said, "we're the fools."

"We seriously need to take a hard look at China," she said, and assess the reality of their threat. "China owes us answers," Greene said. She wants answers not just for the US, but for the world.

Greene asked why Fauci hasn't been Twitter banned despite his "flipping and flopping" on everything from masks to COVID restrictions to the "lies" on the funding of the Wuhan Virology Lab and the work that lab was doing.

"Instead of investing an unknown amount of money in big government healthcare," she said, it would be better to invest in programs that promoted health for children, such as nutrition, and exercise.

"It's not wrong to say it should be people's choice," Greene said. "It doesn't make someone a bad person" if they don't want to get vaccinated or wear masks.

"I think people's responsibility is their own," she said, saying that people can "read, and find out, and make their own decisions."

The government, she said "should not be working" with social media platforms to determine who should get to speak and who shouldn't."
