A large explosion at a metal manufacturing plant in Bedford, Ohio has left multiple people injured.
The explosion occurred at I Schumann & Co, which according to ABC 5 manufactures brass and bronze alloys.
It is currently unclear what caused the explosion. As of 3:39 pm, the outlet stated that the fire has largely been extinguished.
Witnesses told ABC 5 that there were two explosions, one that was smaller, and a second, stronger one that occurred at around 2:30 pm.
Bricks from the building were reportedly shot out from the building due to the blast, with a brick wall being completely blown away. Debris from the explosion was blown across the street, with bricks hitting cars and nearby businesses.
According to Fox 3, the explosion is believed to have resulted in multiple casualties, though an exact number has yet to be reported.
Emergency crews have requested the use of several medical helicopters, and a large number of local fire departments were seen at the scene.
