BREAKING: Multiple casualties reported after mass shooting at Kentucky bank

Witnesses told the outlet that they saw a man with a "long gun" fire multiple shots inside of the bank.

Multiple casualties have been reported inside of a Louisville, Kentucky bank following a shooting.

According to WDRB, five people were killed and six others were injured, including a police officer.

At 9:27 am, the Louisville Metro Police Department confirmed on Twitter that there are reports of an "Active aggressor," and told the public to avoid the 300 block of East Main. "There are multiple casualties."

According to WHAS 11, the incident took place inside the Old National Bank location on the block.

Witnesses told the outlet that they saw a man with a "long gun" fire multiple shots inside of the bank.

Another witness that works in an office building facing the bank told the outlet that the shooter and law enforcement officer got into a "shootout," and recalled seeing civilians being carried out of the bank.

FBI Louisville and the ATF are on the scene assisting Louisville police.

"LMPD has confirmed a shooting situation in downtown Louisville with multiple casualties. I am headed there now. Please pray for all of the families impacted and for the city of Louisville," wrote Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear on Twitter.



At 10:16 am, LMPD announced on Twitter that the suspected shooter has been "neutralized," and "there is no longer an active aggressor threat."
