BREAKING: Ontario restaurateur breaks lockdown regulations for second day, police on scene

After defying lockdown orders and opening his restaurant, Adamson Barbecue, to indoor dining on Tuesday, Adam Skelly was issued an order to close by the city.

But he hasn’t let that or the threat of a $100,000 fine stop his determination to re-open and fight for small businesses which are under increased risk of permanent closure due to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown.

Speaking to The Post Millennial, Skelly said “I will continue to act in noncompliance with these orders and see what kind of support we have today.” He added, “If anyone sees this as an inspiration to stand up and open their business, that’s amazing.”

Likewise, despite the police threatening to ticket his customers and forcibly remove people under the Reopening of Ontario Act if necessary, it didn’t stop a crowd of supporters from once again making their way to the restaurant to support his business.

Police arrived moments before opening to speak with Skelly, but they didn’t stop him from declaring “we are open for business!” as patrons shouted “Freedom! Freedom!” in response.

Police on the scene said that those in attendance were in violation of the Toronto and Peel area's lockdown regulations, and were facing the "possibility of being charged."

Skelly would later come out and say that his restaurant ran out of food, saying that he will bring more food for his patrons tomorrow.
