President Trump has won the state of Texas, home to the country's second-largest economy and population, according to Fox News.

The AP reported that Trump had more than 52 percent of the vote, and Biden nearly 47 percent.

While The New York Times reported that the state was potentially up for grabs in a way that it has not been "in decades," the state saw Trump wind up with a comfortable finish.

While the idea that the lone star state has been turning purple due to demographic changes (namely from Mexico) has been noted for years, the Hispanic vote has not faired in the way that the Democrats have hoped.

In Starr County, Texas, for example, which boasts the title for the most Latino county in the US at 96 percent, President Trump lost to challenger Joe Biden at 9,099 to 8,224, or just three points.
