Quebec's coming lockdown will be implemented on January 9 and end on February 8, according to information gathered by La Presse.
Premier Francois Legault will announce an 8 pm curfew, in what is being described as an "electroshock" approach to slow the spread of COVID 19.
The curfew will have an effect on businesses across Quebec, with grocers being asked to close their doors at 7 or 7:30 pm to give staff time to return home before curfew.
Non-essential stores and restaurants that were already shut down will be required to stay closed until February 8. Manufacturing and construction sites will also be limited.
Ski resorts will remain open for family bubbles only, and TV and film crews will be allowed to work in similar bubbles.
Legault is expected to announce the curfew at 5:00 pm on Wednesday.
