Senator Josh Hawley has issued a statement demanding the resignation of Dr. Anthony Fauci. This comes in the wake of a cache of emails from the beleaguered COVID czar who worked under both the Trump and Biden administrations.

Hawley said that the "recently released emails" as well as the "investigative reporting" that has been done into the origins of COVID-19 are "shocking." As a result, he called on Fauci to resign and for a congressional investigation into the origins of the virus.

Hawley said that "the public deserves to know" if there were people who were actively working to halt an investigation into the origins of the virus that caused a global pandemic and plunged the US into an economic downturn.

The White House has launched an investigation into the origins of the virus, giving the investigators 90 days to come up with a determination. The US Senate passed a bill to declassify intelligence information on the origins of the virus and the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

This came after it was revealed that the Biden administration had spiked an investigation into the origins of the virus, that had been undertaken by the Trump administration. Facebook also lifted the ban on posts questioning the origins of the virus.

Former President Trump also called for answers, saying "There are a lot of questions that must be answered by Dr. Fauci. The funding of Wuhan by the U.S. was foolishly started by the Obama Administration in 2014 but ended under the Trump Administration. When I heard about it, I said 'no way.' What did Dr. Fauci know about 'gain of function' research, and when did he know it?"
