Authorities have announced that a suspect is in custody for the November 13 murders of four University of Idaho students.

Fox News digital reports that a man in his mid-20s was arrested by police at 3 am in Scranton, Pennsylvania, a police source said.

The suspect is a college student, though he reportedly does not attend the University of Idaho.

According to NewsNation Senior National Correspondent Brian Entin, the suspect has been identified as Bryan Christopher Kohberger, and is being held for extradition.

Kohberger is listed as a Ph.D. student at Washington State University's Pullman campus, according to the university’s website. Pullman, Washington is a 15-minute drive from Moscow, Idaho, where the murders occurred.

Ethan Chapin, 20, Xana Kernodle, 20, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, and Madison Mogen, 21, were stabbed to death near campus by the alleged suspect.

The Moscow Police department said that they will be holding a press conference on December 30 at 1 pm local time with an update on their investigation along with additional details.

For nearly 6 weeks, police said that they hadn't identified a suspect.

That the four students were stabbed with a large fixed-blade knife between the hours of 3 and 4 am on November 13.

Police say that before the attack, Goncalves and Mogen went to the Corner Club, a downtown bar, before ordering food from the Grub Truck at around 1:40 am. The two used a "third-party" driver to get home, and arrived at the King Road residence by 1:56 am.

Kernodle and her boyfriend Chapin had attended a party at the Sigma Chi house on campus, and returned home at 1:45 am.

Moscow Police had been focusing their investigation on finding the occupants of a 2011 to 2013 white Hyundai Elantra that had been seen near the home around the time of the murders.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated.
