This action comes in the wake of the police killing of George Floyd last week in Minneapolis, as well as the death of Regis Korchinski-Paquet, who fell 24 floors from her balcony while police were in her apartment. Police have been accused of pushing her to her death.

Charges have been laid against Derek Chauvin, the officer who was caught on video forcefully detaining Floyd against the ground. Korchinski-Paquet's death is being investigated by Ontario's Special Investigations Unit.
The protests today were organized by a group called Not Another Black Life. There have been weekly, Saturday protests in Toronto since April 25, although those were with regard to a desire to end the lockdown.
The protest march, which will end at Queen's Park, were slated for a 2 p.m. at Christie Pits park, near Bloor Street West and Christie Street.
Toronto Mayor John Tory, who has been vocal about his desire to see Canadians follow social distancing and stay-home restrictions, offered understanding today at Torontonians anger over Korchinski-Paquet's death. He asked protestors to maintain social distancing protocols, according to CBC.
These are the same protocols that he broke at Trinity-Bellwoods Park last weekend.
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
