Former Brazil President Jair Messias Bolsonaro is set to appear at a Turning Point USA event on Friday, which will be his first public event since the Brazilian presidential election in October.

"Brazil has become a key battleground in the global clash between the power of the people and the tyranny of a corrupt globalist machine," Turning Point USA founder and president Charlie Kirk wrote on Twitter.

"TPUSA is honored to host President Jair Bolsonaro in Miami THIS FRIDAY for his first public event following the recent Brazilian elections," he added.

The rally will take place at the Trump National Doral in Miami from 5 to 6:30 pm. "The event, which features both the former President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro and TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk, will discuss socialism, the political state of Brazil, and so much more," Turning Point USA said in a press release.

Bolsonaro has temporarily resided in Florida since December and recently applied for a six-month visa to remain in the country. Felipe Alexandre, Bolsonaro’s immigration lawyer, stated that the former president wishes to “clear his head and enjoy being a tourist in the United States for a few months before deciding what his next step will be."

"Bolsonaro’s request to temporarily stay in the United States is in the midst of the Brazilian government investigating him for any alleged wrongdoing following the massive protests that broke out across the country after his election loss," Turning Point USA wrote.

"Following the election of current President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, supporters of Bolsonaro protested the election results, questioning the credibility and security of the country’s voting process. Bolsonaro responded by denouncing any violence among his supporters, but the Brazilian Supreme Court approved a request for prosecutors to investigate Bolsonaro for any potential involvement in these protests."

Bolsonaro lost the runoff election to far-left former Brazilian president Lula da Silva, garnering a close 49.17 percent of the vote to da Silva’s 50.83.

In November, Bolsonaro challenged da Silva’s win, arguing that there were "signs of irreparable ... malfunction" in some electric voting machines.

The complaint reads that "'There were signs of serious failures that generate uncertainties and make it impossible to validate the results generated' in older models of the voting machines, Bolsonaro allies said in their complaint. As a result, they urged that the votes from those models should be 'invalidated.'"

Bolsonaro's supporters protested the results of the election, blocking roadways and rioting in the capital Brasilia, saying that Lula, a man who served as president and was convicted on corruption charges only to have a court throw them out, didn’t win the election.
