Ministers Bill Blair and Patty Hajdu announced on Monday that fully-vaccinated travellers will no longer be required to quarantine upon their entry into Canada.

The new measures will allow those eligible to enter Canada to not have to stay in a quarantine facility, nor will they have to take a COVID test. These rules are set to be applied starting on July 5.

Children who are not vaccinated will not have to quarantine as well, so long as their parents are fully vaccinated at least two weeks prior to their entry into Canada.

Travellers will also have to declare their vaccination status prior to being permitted entry into Canada.

Canada's borders will remain closed to foreign nationals who want to enter for "non-essential" reasons.
