Trump's campaign held a press conference on Monday night to make sure their message came through: the election is not over because the results are in dispute.
Press Secretary Kayleigh said "as yourself this, what are Pennsylvania Democrats hiding? Why can't poll watchers simply observe the count?" She noted that it was the state legislature who should be making the decisions as to how voting is done, per the US Constitution. "Maybe there's a reason the Secretary of State, Bookvar, keeps substituting her will for the will of the legislature, perhaps it's because she has motive."
McEnany lit into the the media saying, "our position is clear. We want to protect the franchise of the American people. We want an honest, accurate, lawful count. We want maximum sunlight. We want maximum transparency. We want every legal vote to be counted, and we want every illegal vote to be discarded. Unlike our opponents, we have nothing to hide."
She then deflected recent attacks on the Republican Party, ones that are calling the GOP "anti-democratic" and proceeded to attack the Democrats.
"There is only one party in America that opposes voter ID one party in America that opposes verifying signatures, citizenship, residency, eligibility. There is only one party in America trying to keep observers out of the count room. And that party, my friends is the Democrat party. You don't take these positions because you want an honest election, you don't oppose an audit of the vote because you want an accurate count."
"You don't oppose our efforts at sunlight and transparency because you have nothing to hide. You take these positions because you are welcoming fraud and you are welcoming, illegal voting," McEnany said about the Democrats attempts to keep poll watchers distanced from the counters and actions like blocking windows and doors.
Trump Campaign General Counsel, Matt Morgan then appeared on stage and detailed the legal action the Trump team was taking. "The election is not over. Tabulation and canvassing continues across the United States" Morgan said. "And today in the United States district court for the middle district of Pennsylvania, the Donald J. Trump for President and two representative voters filed suit against the Secretary of State and select counties."
The team alleges the Secretary of State and select counties in Pennsylvania committed:
- A violation of equal access based on a lack of meaningful observation and transparency, particularly in Democrat controlled counties.
- A violation of equal protection based on disparate treatment between Republican voters and Democrat voters.
Finally, GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel detailed how the Democrats and the media want to ignore clear irregularities. She said Trump's team intends to assure that every lawful voter has their vote counted.
Ronna McDaniel then detailed the legal action the Trump campaign has taken in Michigan since Election Day. "And as a 4:00 p.m. this afternoon, 131 affidavits have been completed just in Michigan," McDaniel said. She then added that over 2,800 incident reports have been submitted to the Trump Team since the third.
"Two new lawsuits were filed today by people who were working, who were working in Detroit and a whistleblower who has gotten their information. We have gotten their information to the Eastern district court of Michigan."
Twitter labeled the tweets that went out with footage from the Trump campaign's press conference with warning labels reading "This claim about election fraud is disputed."
Current vote counts in Pennsylvania have Biden with 49.7 percent of the vote (3,364,279) and Trump with 49.0 percent of the vote (3,318,876).
Current vote counts in Michigan have Joe Biden with 50.5 percent of the vote (2,790,668) and Trump with 47.9 percent of the vote (2,644,560).
