The Trump campaign on Tuesday filed a lawsuit in Wisconsin to challenge 221,000 ballots cast in the general election in that state.
The lawsuit, filed in Wisconsin Supreme Court, alleged the illegal altering of absentee ballot envelopes, which meant to be secure and signed, counting ballots for which no application to receive a ballot was made, "overlooking unlawful claims of indefinite confinement," and holding illegal voting events.
These voting events, called Democracy in the Park, were touted by the Biden Harris campaign as places where citizens could turn in their absentee ballots, proving poll watchers to sign and witness these ballots. Under Wisconsin law, votes may not be cast and ballots may not be submitted outside of designated polling places.
A recount in two counties had been requested in Wisconsin by the Trump campaign, and is set to go forward. Wisconsin has been contested by the campaign, and in that state, recount rules were up for debate, absentee ballots have been found to have been cast on behalf of dead people, among other concerns.
