President Trump said on Monday that he may give the greenlight to "more federal law enforcement" in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, Baltimore, Oakland, and other cities to deal with unrest.
Trump noted that federal agents were doing a "fantastic job" in cities such as Portland, Oregon, where demonstrations of what Trump called "lawless anarchists" have taken over parts of the city.
"These aren't protestors. They're lawless anarchists, who hate our country," Trump continued, blaming liberal democrat leaders for their lack of control of the situation.
While Trump has praised the efforts of federal agents in Oregon, Mayor Ted Wheeler said that officers were "not wanted [in Portland.] We haven't asked for them here. In fact, we want them to leave."
"What we're seeing is a blatant abuse of police tactics by the federal government," Wheeler continued.

"We are trying to help Portland, not hurt it," Trump said yesterday in a tweet. "Their leadership has, for months, lost control of the anarchists and agitators. They are missing in action. We must protect Federal property, AND OUR PEOPLE. These were not merely protesters, these are the real deal!"
