Following the acquittal of former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann, former President Donald Trump issued a statement slamming the legal system for the verdict.

"Our Legal System is CORRUPT, our Judges (and Justices!) are highly partisan, compromised, or just plain scared, our Borders are OPEN, our Elections are Rigged, Inflation is RAMPANT, gas prices and food costs are 'through the roof,' our Military 'Leadership' is Woke, our Country is going to HELL, and Michael Sussmann is not guilty," wrote Trump on his platform, Truth Social. "How’s everything else doing? Enjoy your day!!!" He posted on Truth Social.

On Tuesday, a federal jury in Washington DC acquitted Sussmann, finding him not guilty of lying to the FBI in regards to him telling then-FBI general Counsel James Baker that he was not bringing forth the Russia collusion allegations on behalf of the Clinton Campaign and an internet executive when the pair met in 2016.

Sussmann’s attorneys highlighted during the trial the mistakes that the FBI made while investigating the case, including not interviewing Sussmann or other critical witnesses. They also noted communications among FBI officials that showed they were aware of Sussmann’s political clients.

One of the most notable revelations from the trial was fact that Hillary Clinton had authorized the dissemination of the Russia Collusion story to the press.

Former Clinton campaign manager Robert Mook recalled from the stand a conversation the two had, in which Clinton had authorized the action.
