Twitter has suspended decried right-wing leader Nick Fuentes just after the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) published reports on the controversial provocateur.

The ADL's report outlined "Five Things to Know" about Fuentes, stating that he is "a white supremacist leader and organizer and podcaster who seeks to forge a white nationalist alternative to the mainstream GOP," has "promoted election fraud narratives" and encouraged followers to participate in nationwide Stop the Steal protests, and is "working to defend against 'leftist' cultural changes that are destroying the 'true America:' a white, Christian nation," among other charges.

Fuentes's ban also followed a July 7 report by the Southern Poverty Law Center and how Twitter's purported lack of regulations and enforcement of its policies helped to empower the far-right movement online.

The SPLC alleged that Twitter gave far-right extremists the platform to "plan an attack" on the Capitol building, alleging that the social media site will "likely enable politically motivated violence again in the future" if no action is taken.

According to the SLPC's report, which came out two days ago, Twitter appeared to have no intention of suspending him—until now. It's unclear what has since changed. In response to the suspension, Twitter issued a benign statement to the Daily Dot, only stating that Fuentes had "repeated violations of the Twitter Rules."

"Nick Fuentes being cancelled doesn't hurt my feelings, but it does hurt my freedom," tweeted Daily Wire co-founder Jeremy Boreing, a spin on Daily Wire host Ben Shapiro's iconic catchphrase. "Unless Twitter can point to a particular policy he violated and unless they enforce that policy uniformly, I oppose his suspension," challenged Boreing via Twitter.

"Nick Fuentes is a garbage person with garbage beliefs. Twitter is also filled with lots of garbage people with garbage beliefs. Only certain people get banned. Nobody should trust Twitter's supposed free speech neutrality," Shapiro later chirped, joining Boreing's defensive argument.

"Fuentes didn't break Twitter's rules," Daily Wire firebrand Matt Walsh tweeted. "They banned him now because an activist group told them to. That's a huge problem, especially when they only do this kind of thing in one direction."

"This happens pretty regularly. The ADL or SPLC will hit somebody and their target will  get banned from social media shortly after," remarked conservative commentator Kyle Hooten, a former member of the Trump administration where he served in the Department of Commerce as a speechwriter for the secretary.

"Nick Fuentes has been a giant troll (and IMO dishonest) in his attacks against me," commented Hillbilly Elegy author J.D. Vance. "Don't care. Tech companies control what we're allowed to say in our own country. It has to stop."

"Like him or not — do you really want the far-left ADL controlling who can speak online?" added right-wing personality and writer Cassandra Fairbanks.

"Two things are often true at once. 1 I don't like you, and 2 your bad ideas should be there for the world to see and mock. That's all I'll say about this," tweeted Timcast IRL producer Lydia Smith. "Watch the flood of his supporters to see why I don't like his ideas and the people he attracts. I get more abuse from them than from the actual left. Not a selling point, guys."

"I'm opposed to the sampling of content I did see — but he absolutely should not be banned, nor should anyone unless they engage in criminal conduct on a platform," tweeted Newsmax host Steve Cortes.

Fuentes claimed in late April that he was been placed on the no-fly list in the aftermath of the Capitol Hill riot on Jan. 6. He has come under fire by both the left and the right for participating in white nationalist groups.

The group that Fuentes leads call themselves Groypers, which is further right on immigration than even most hardline of Republicans.
