Two suspects are dead, and six officers were shot and wounded during a shootout at bank robbery in Saanich, British Columbia on Tuesday morning.

Law enforcement authorities have issued a shelter-in-place order as they attempt to locate a possible third suspect, according to CP 24.

Officers in both the Saanich and Victoria Police Departments responded to reports of an active shooter situation involving multiple people and injuries around 11 am on Tuesday, according to the Global News.

Two of the suspects were killed by police at the scene.

Three officers wounded in the shootout are from Saanich police, while the other three officers are members of the Victoria Police Department. Some officers are expected to be quickly released from the hospital, while others sustained serious injuries. Two police officers are currently undergoing surgery, according to Global News.

The Saanich Police Department said that homes and businesses within close proximity to the shooting were evacuated after authorities found a potential explosive device in a vehicle related to the suspects.

The department said that there are no reports of bank employees, bank customers, or members of the public that were physically injured in this incident.

Saanich PD asked the public on Twitter not to share the location of their officers as they look for the third suspect in a multi-agency manhunt.

Bank of Montreal spokesperson Jeff Roman told Global News that, "We are deeply shocked and saddened by the incident that is occurring in Victoria this afternoon. We thank emergency responders for their dedication and for helping to keep the public safe."

"The safety and security of our customers and employees is our priority and our thoughts are with all those impacted by today's events," the statement read.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
