On Sunday, the US military "decommissioned" an unidentified object hovering over Lake Huron, which rests between the eastern shore of Michigan and Ontario, Canada on the North.

On Twitter, Representative Jack Berman tweeted, "I’ve been in contact with DOD regarding operations across the Great Lakes region today. The US military has decommissioned another 'object' over Lake Huron. I appreciate the decisive action by our fighter pilots. The American people deserve far more answers than we have."

BNO News tweeted, "BREAKING: U.S. military shot down unidentified object over Lake Huron, sources tell NBC News."

"BREAKING: Michigan Rep. Jack Bergman says that this afternoon the US Military 'decommissioned' an object over Lake Huron. Tennessee Rep. Tim Burchett tweeted me last night saying the US knows what the new objects are. It’s time for @JoeBiden to tell America what’s going on."

As Fox News reports, the FAA briefly closed and reopened airspace over parts of Northern Michigan earlier on Sunday.

On Sunday a senior US official confirmed that the unidentified "high-altitude airborne" objects downed over Canada on Saturday and over Alaska on Friday were balloons, reports Fox News.

The official said that each device could be described as a "small metallic balloon with a tethered payload." Speaking to George Stephanopoulos during ABC's This Week, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said they were balloons and were "much smaller" than the first one.

This story is breaking and will be updated.
