This comes almost a week after George Floyd was killed in Minneapolis at the hands of police, an incident that has sparked massive protests, riots, violence, and looting, in more states than have been left free of this social turbulence.
The stand off began with a line of police facing down a line of demonstrators.

President Donald Trump has admonished both the officers for their conduct in the Floyd killing, and those who are using the opportunity to destroy property and incite violence.
