White House press secretary Jen Psaki was asked on Tuesday about when the United States' border would reopen to countries such as Canada and Europe, to which she said there was no updates.

Specifically, Psaki was asked about any difficulties caused by the Delta strain of COVID-19, which originated in India. Psaki said that working groups and public health officials were working on the matter.

"As you know, there's working groups that are having discussions between our officials and officials in Europe and other countries as to what those paths forward look like. I have no updates on those groups," Psaki replied.

Psaki corrected reporters when it was said that there was no progress on border re-openings, once again saying that working groups and public health officials were working on the matter.

Last week, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that more news on the border could be expected sooner rather than later, as COVID-19 case counts continue to remain low.

Recently, the Trudeau government announced that starting July 5, the border would reopen to fully vaccinated Canadians who wished to re-enter their country, without having to self isolate or stay at a COVID-19 facility.
