Calls for Lincoln Project to shut down intensify after second allegation of underage grooming emerges

Calls for the disgraced Lincoln Project to shut down have intensified after the second allegation of underage grooming has emerged at the height of the sexual misconduct scandal that continues to engulf the anti-Trump organization.

"Just shut it down already," former Lincoln Project senior advisor Kurt Bardella tweeted on Wednesday, "it's over."

The Bongino Report's content manager Matt Palumbo then pointed out that Bardella was "so distraught by these revelations" that he didn't even remove the super PAC's name from his Twitter bio until several days ago—between Feb. 10 and Feb. 12, according to the digital Wayback Machine archives.

"The rats are jumping off the ship," commented Donald Trump Jr, inquiring "what did [Bardella] know" and "when did he know it?"

"You're not walking away from this without answering some questions, pedo enabler," pressed political commentator Arthur Schwartz.

The Lincoln Project's co-founder George Conway, who left the organization in August of last year, replied to his ex-colleague: "It's a shame, and we shouldn't forget the hard work of so many people and the positive things the organization did, but yes, I think this is right."

The Lincoln Project's donation page has been listed as inactive since Saturday after several of the organization's founders resigned amid multiple reports of sexual misconduct and misappropriation of funds. Project Lincoln had raised more than $90 million, but more than half of that funding was spent on consulting companies owned by the group's founders.

The discredited group consisted of pseudo-Republican strategists hellbent on unseating former President Donald Trump and purging him from the GOP. But then the network imploded last month when numerous young men went public with their accusations of sexual harassment against co-founder John Weaver.

Weaver's alleged sexual solicitations included interacting with one 14-year-old boy. Now another minor victim, who is still underage, has come forward. Last week, two former Lincoln Project interns entered the public light with lurid text messages sent by Weaver who has since departed from the short-lived venture.

The Associated Press reported that Lincoln Project leaders were informed in writing and phone calls of at least 10 specific allegations of harassment levelled against Weaver as early as June 2020.

Project Lincoln announced Monday via press statement on Twitter that an additional probe led by hired lawyers will investigate Weaver's inappropriate behavior as part of "a comprehensive review" of the group's "operations and culture." The group has also released both current and former employees from their non-disclosure agreements in order to be able to discuss their "workplace environment." This comes after the organization reported the launching of an external investigation last Thursday.

While the Lincoln Project tried to claim the moral high ground during Trump's tenure and the 2020 presidential election, the group took no action against Weaver at the time and pressed forward with the organization's vexatious high-profile work. Then Project Lincoln affiliates expressed utter shock in January.

The cascading charges threaten the stature of not just Project Lincoln, but the broader coalition of establishment-aligned Democratic operatives that have infiltrated the Republican Party.
