All non-essential travel will remain forbidden from crossing over the Canada-US border until the end of July, according to City News.

The non-essential travel ban has been in effect between Canada and the US since March 21, per agreement by both nations, and it prohibits travel for the purposes of vacation or cross-border shopping.

Essential employees have been allowed to cross, and commerce and trade has remained open and will continue to be permitted to cross on either side.

The border is expected to be reopened to the general public by June 21.
