The Canucks for Kids Fund will be donating $500,000 to national charities in BC to help in the fight against coronavirus, according to Sportsnet.
In a statement, CFKF President and co-owner of the Vancouver Canucks, Paolo Aquilini said, “There may never be a more important time in our lifetime to support the community.”
“The pandemic has created extraordinary demands and with this $500,000 gift we are inviting fans to join us by donating if they are able. Canucks fans make up BC’s biggest family and our family needs us now, more than ever.”
The CFKF expanded its priorities to include caring for children, families and seniors throughout the pandemic.

Nine charities will be receiving portions of Thursdays donation:
- Feeding the Community - $200,000
- BC Care Providers Association - $100,000
- Greater Vancouver Food Bank - $50,000
- Canucks Family Education Centre - $25,000
- Senior Services Society of BC - $25,000
- Foundry BC - $25,000
- Mackie’s Place - $25,000
- YWCA Crabtree Corner Community Resource Centre - $25,000
- Kids Help Phone - $25,000
